Both ranges can control hydraulic functions. The difference is how much of the valve is fixed in one body and how far the assembly can be configured section by section.

The valve must be selected as part of the complete circuit. A familiar body size or matching thread is not enough to confirm suitability.

Application and duty

What the machine must do, load behaviour and duty cycle.

Flow and pressure

Pump flow, operating pressure, relief strategy and return conditions.

Functions

Number of services and whether each is single acting, double acting or float.

Spool behaviour

Neutral paths, work positions, detents and spring-return requirements.

Controls

Manual lever, cable, joystick, pneumatic or assisted operation.

Circuit and ports

Open centre, carry-over or closed centre, plus port threads and layout.

Start with what is visible on the existing valve

Send the make, model, codes, nameplate, clear photographs, overall dimensions, ports and a description of each function. We can help seek a modern replacement or a different product that achieves the required outcome, but matching appearance or threads does not prove direct interchangeability.

Confirm the complete hydraulic circuit

Hydraulic systems can store energy and release fluid at pressures capable of causing serious injury. Selection, installation and commissioning must be completed by competent people using the machine documentation and applicable safety and machinery requirements. Hydraulic Equipment supplies and helps specify components; installation and on-vehicle servicing are not provided directly.
